Rebirth of IHN, the Interfaith Hospitality Network

IHN is being reborn under the auspices of Family Promise of Mercer County.  Family Promise is an interfaith group that is the parent organization of IHN and is hosting their first (re)organizing meeting at the New Covenant United Methodist Church, 1965 S Broad Street, Hamilton NJ 08610, host pastor Rev. Danny Thomas on Monday, March 3 at 7:30 pm.  The key first step is assess which congregations who have formerly participated in this ministry and then to recruit a total of at least thirteen committed congregations.  There is a need for this ministry for the homeless; Home Front, which does much of the same work, is turning away families because the need exceeds their ability to respond.  If you are interested in finding out more about this “hands on” ministry to assist the homeless, please consider coming to this meeting or contact Pastor Jan or Joe and Lucille Fennimore

Young Adults Group (New)

 

The young adults group is starting! This new group is a contemporary and casual way to enjoy the fellowship with others who are beyond the youth group years. This group is a way to keeps those old friendships and develop new friendships with others who enjoy the Joy of our Lord.  

This group is open to for all from young adults to 35. We will meet every other week with special events during collage breaks, so are friends who are away at school can join us. Most meetings will be a causal gathering to enjoy fellowship and  discuss things happing in our in lives in an open forum, apply Biblical reference and Christian valves to the topics.  

To start this group we will be having a CHRISTMAS PARTY at the home of Joanne and Carl on  Saturday, December 22nd  at 7:00 PM ,  Please contact us at chkraz@yahoo.com or mrskraz@yahoo.com  if you would like to attend.  We can send you directions or meet Carl at the Church at 6:55 PM to follow him to the house.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

 

There is interest in our church for a prayer shawl ministry.  They can be either crocheted or knitted shawls.  We will find a time that is convenient for all.  If you or anyone you know is interested in this ministry please contact Terri Burd or Lucille Fennimore at.

Shawls ... made for centuries universal and embracing,

symbolic of an inclusive, unconditionally loving, God.

They wrap, enfold, comfort, cover, give solace,

mother, hug, shelter and beautify.

Those who have received these shawls have been 

uplifted and affirmed, as if given wings to 

fly above their troubles…”

New Garments Always is a national organization that supplies new clothing to those in need. Our church belongs to the Mercer County Branch. "NGA" will be holding its Ingathering on October 24^th.   We will be bringing our new garments to The Ewing Presbyterian Church on October 23^rd to be sorted and divided among the various organizations that wish to participate in this year’s clothing distribution.  On October 7^th, 14^th and  21^st, I will be placing a laundry basket in the foyer for those who wish to contribute new garments to this group…everything from socks to overcoats is greatly needed.  Size or color doesn’t matter, as these organizations deal with people of all ages.  Any questions contact Vearian Kroeck
