SQUARE KNOTS

Square Knots originated back in 1966 when its charter members had very young children who needed to get out once in a while to enjoy adult company while keeping the budget to a minimum. Our purpose is still the same: to promote social fellowship and recreation for adult members and friends of members of the First Presbyterian Church of Hamilton Square weather they're singles or couples. Meetings are held on the first Saturday (generally evening) of every month except July and August. In recent years we've been functioning without officers, program chairpersons or committee chairpersons. It's the input and active involvement of everyone that makes Square Knots a success. As we evolve and our membership changes, our programs change also.

SQUARE KNOT HAPPENINGS

As has been our custom the last several years, the Square Knots monthly programs are run by individuals who ask club members to assist them in running their respective program. Wayne and Barbara Anderson will be the Secretaries/Publicity persons and Elly Dennis will, once again, be the phone contact person. Paul Tindall is the Treasurer.

There are plans to go Miniature golfing at Pine Creek Golf Course on Rt 31 in Ringoes on Saturday, September 11 with a meal at a restaurant either before or after golfing. At this time no details are available. Therefore, keep
check on the bulletin inserts and the bulletin board.

On Saturday, October 2, 2010 we’ll be carpooling to the Off-Broadstreet Theatre in Hopewell, NJ to see Southern Comforts which is a beautiful exploration of the intimate workings of a relationship between a widow and a
widower who meet later in life and find a way into each other’s hearts. Set in a New Jersey Victorian, a taciturn Yankee widower and a vivacious grandmother from Tennessee find what they least expected—a second chance
at love. Their funny, awkward, and enchanting romance is filled with sweet surprise and unpredictable tribulation. Told with warmth and perceptive humor, this is a delightful story of rejuvenation and reward as they deal with
change. Dessert will be a 7:00 p.m. Curtain time is 8:00 p.m. Cost is $24.15/person (20 or more persons) and is payable to Barbara or Wayne Anderson by the reservation deadline of September 19^th. If you need to
arrange car-pooling, you may telephone the Andersons.

On Saturday, November 6 we’ll be going to Kelsey Theatre to see Annie Get Your Gun. More details on this will be in the September issue of the Flock.
