ANNUAL CHURCH RUMMAGE SALE!!!

Saturday, March 24, 2012  --  8:00 AM to 2:00 PM

ITEMS NEEDED FOR THE SALE:

KITCHENWARE- dishes, pots & pans, glasses, Tupperware

FINE CHINA- Lenox, silver, dinnerware, vintage items

ELECTRICAL ITEMS- TV’s, radios, appliances (in working order)

FURNITURE– chairs, tables, dressers, desks, lamps, mirrors

CLOTHING– clean and sorted by mens, womens, children

BABY ITEMS- high chairs, strollers, car seats

SHOES and BOOTS- clean, in good condition

LINENS- washed, tagged, size of item

TOYS- games, stuffed animals, dolls, puzzles, trucks (remember to include remote controls)

BOOKS- paperbacks, hard cover, cookbooks

VIDEOS, CD’S, DVD’S, cassette tapes, records

CRAFTS- kits, material, yarn, ribbon, sewing items

HOLIDAY ITEMS- decorations, towels, ornaments

JEWELRY- necklaces, earrings, rings (mark if Sterling or 14K gold)

GARDENING TOOLS, HANDYMAN TOOLS, SPORTS ITEMS

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED: No large items like stoves, refrigerators, mattresses, heavy furniture like sofas or large storage units.  No Christmas trees, tires, skis, poles, liquids (paints, oils).  No encyclopedias, computers, monitors or printers.

Donations received Thurs. March 22, 5-9pm; Fri March 23  9am-8pm. No drop offs on Saturday.  Make sure items are clean & useable.  If you cannot bring your items to the church, pickups will be scheduled for Thurs. evening.   If you can loan or donate folding tables or bookcases for us to use to display items, let us know.  Paper and plastic bags are also needed.  Volunteers are needed on Thurs and Fri to sort and price items, Sat morning to help during the sale and Sat afternoon to clean up after the sale
.

RETREAT 2012  

April 27, 28 and 29th

at the Presbyterian Camp & Conference Center

in Johnsonburg, NJ

Come join the fun and fellowship at our church wide retreat.  This is an opportunity for all members of our church family to gather together, away from the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives.  It is also a great time for spiritual growth, fellowship and relaxation in the beautiful hills of northern New Jersey. 

 

The facilities at Johnsonburg are terrific and varied.  Your accommodations could be as simple as an unheated cabin with a walk to the bathroom.  Or, if you prefer more “hotel” style amenities, there are carpeted rooms with private bathrooms attached.  All of the lodges offer carpeted floors with shared bathrooms, plus a kitchen and gathering room.  This is NOT tent camping!!   By the way, the food is prepared for us.  It is good and there is plenty of it.  Plus there is no dishwashing!! 

After the last retreat Rob and Catherine Deane shared their feelings about the experience below:

Church retreat is an awesome experience in fellowship.  For two days, Christian and Benjamin have ~80 aunts and uncles.  We love it.  Fun, fellowship, AND the chance to grow with God.  We can't believe you haven’t been.´ There are many other activities to consider joining: singing around the campfire Friday night, watching the sun come up while sipping coffee on the deck overlooking the lake, fishing from the dock or a boat, having a leisurely conversation with someone you’ve been wanting to get to know better, nibbling from a well stocked snack table and hiking the well marked trails.  Sunday morning worship at the outdoor chapel by the lake or at the chapel in the woods will complete our weekend.  Child care will be provided during the small group activities for the youngest members of our church family.

Cabins                                    Unheated and sleep up to eight people.  Bathing facilities down the path....
